Thinking Day

We were really pleased to be able to help in a small way with the local Rainbows, Brownies and Guides for their recent "Thinking Day" by providing some photos from the work of our partnership. Our committee member, Ann, is also one of their leaders and explains more:

"Wednesday 18th February was World Thinking Day for Dunblane Rainbows, Brownies and Girl Guides. More than 200 girls attended and the theme of the event was Global Partnership for Development which is number 8 of the UNICEF Millenium Goals. This was an opportunity to focus on what the Dunblane Likhubula Partnership is doing in its own small way to help meet the 8 Millenium goals.

After examining the information display boards with pictures of Likhubula the girls then completed a quiz and matched up Partnership projects with the 8 Millenium Goals. They were asked to compare their lives with the lives of the children in Likhubula and to think about what they could do to help make life better for children in Malawi and elsewhere in the world.

Other activities included thinking about the importance of clean water in combating disease and they participated in a water filtration exercise.

The girls then enjoyed other activities and games based around the Millenium Goals and the work of the Dunblane Likhubula Partnership."
