In 2005, we welcomed 3 of the then-members of the Likhubula Committee to Dunblane.
You might remember Mr Charles Chiromo? Mr Chiromo was the headteacher of Nansato Primary School and a member of the Likhubula Steering Committee until moving to another area to take up a new job.
The photo shown was taken when Jenni and Fiona visited him and his family in 2013.
We were very sorry to hear that his family and his school have been effected by the flooding.
Jenni writes:
"Mr Chiromo, who was with us in Dunblane in 2005, has had his house and school destroyed. They were taken to a hotel for the first nights, is now somewhere ‘at the Boma’ (market). Today the President of Malawi is to visit his school to see the devastation for himself."
Fiona writes:
"This is my dear friend Charles Chiromo and his family. Last week they were made homeless due to the floods in Malawi. His school has also been damaged. Today he has been visited by the President of Malawi who continues to assess the damage across the country. This is the personal side of the devastation in Malawi. My heart is saddened..."
