The partnership has supported the efforts of the Bridge of Allan and Dunblane Rotary Club in funding the training of midwifes in Malawi as part of the Freedom from Fistula charity.
This funding has been matched several times through the Rotary and approval for project funding of £125,000 has recently been announced!
In addition, the Gates Foundation have recently confirmed their support to the initiative to construct 'waiting shelters' allowing pregnant women to arrive at the hospital a few weeks before their due date. These shelters will also play a huge part in reducing the occurence of fistula
