On 14th October the Dunblane Cathedral Guild held their inaugural meeting and "Getting to Know You" afternoon, and one priority was to receive an update on the link between Guild and Mvano. Jenni Barr was invited along to give an update to members of the Guild following the partnership visit in the summer.
Letters sent by Mvano this summer were on display, and Jenni circulated photos, presented a report of the recent visit and led a discussion with Guild members, answering their questions wherever she could. The relationship between Guild and Mvano is ongoing and we are hopeful that a new email address for Mvano will open the way for more regular communications. The Guild also has a new representative on the Dunblane committee, Jean Rutherford, who has extensive experience of Malawi, which is an asset.
The Guild reminded Jenni the Mary's Meals is currently one of their key projects and more than £45,000 was donated to Mary's Meals by the Guild of the Church of Scotland last year.
Jenni asked to be allowed to send a copy of the hymn sung on 14th October to Mvano. Its words highlight the common goals of Guild and Mvano. We will post the hymn on this site too!
